ARTIST STATEMENT
I photograph instinctively, drawn to particular moments, places and subjects. Often, it's only later that I become aware of the emotions they evoke.
Photography gives me a hidden language through which I express what I cannot always put into words. Across the natural and built environment, I recognise qualities that resonate with human experience — strength and vulnerability, stillness and energy, what is revealed and what remains hidden. These seemingly opposing qualities can exist alongside one another, just as they do in our own lives.
Transience is central to my practice. Photography allows me to preserve fleeting moments in a constantly changing world, capturing something that will never exist in quite the same way again.
Working with minimalism, negative space and atmosphere, I create visual sanctuaries that move beyond the literal subject, leaving room for emotional connection and contemplation.
